Stop in, smell the fresh breads and other culinary specialties, and you will want to stay.

"People love to come and linger," said Hannelore Holland, who owns the gourmet shop and cafe with her husband, Bill Holland.

Smoked Turkey with Cranberry Sauce and Romaine on braided bread is a favorite, while the Charcuterie Board pairs perfectly with wine.

"We specialize in wines from $12 to $30," Bill Holland said. "We taste and sample every wine before we bring it into inventory. It has to drink like it's more expensive."

The shop has everything you could imagine wanting when it comes to food and entertaining, from the kitchen to the table. Find specialty kitchen tools, serving ware and home decor. Shelves are filled with gourmet items, some local.

Hannelore Holland not shares her secrets in her cooking classes, some inspired from her German heritage, but hosts well-known area chefs to teach classes as well. Watch the dish as it's made, following along with a printed copy of the recipe, socialize with friends, some in the making, sip on wine and then enjoy the cuisine. It is like hanging out in a friend's kitchen, with a personal chef. Classes are for all levels; call for reservations.

Somethin's Cookin' has been its current location since 1995, though it opened more than 30 years ago. Stop by the shop, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and spend some time with the Hollands.
