New License-Free Fishing Dates Added
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) added four more license-free fishing days to the calendar recently, and the Florida Legislature approved the increase: The additional saltwater license-free fishing days will be Oct. 12 and Nov. 30, and additional freshwater license-free days will be Nov. 29 and Dec. 28. On these dates, the requirement to have a recreational fishing license is waived for residents and visitors. Check out more outdoors info here.<<

Celebrate 'Truman Show'
To celebrate the filming and premiere of "The Truman Show" more than 15 years ago, with its first screening in June 1998, Seaside is hosting a contest for fans: Grab your camera (or phone) and find the 15 sites listed at the town's website; take a picture of someone in your party at each site and email the photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. A winner will be randomly drawn from entries at the end of each month through December. Winners receive a DVD of the film, a framed print of Seaside's Coleman Pavilion, and will be published in The Seaside Times.
Crow Photos to Grace Pearl
Rosemary Beach-based photographer Tommy Crow's fine art photography collection will be showcased at The Pearl on Rosemary Beach, North Florida's newest luxury hotel. Many of the images were created specifically for The Pearl, and Crow has worked with Atlanta videographer Nate Dorn to extend his creative vision with art films playing throughout the hotel.
